Keyword stuffing, hiding keywords in a very small font or a color that blends with the background, and paying for incoming links are all tactics that Google considers to be spam, and your website’s search traffic will be negatively affected if you’re caught doing any of them. Now, this is an important issue to be addressed. If a site, or specific page, has a lot of backlinks pointing to it, Google then sees this page or site as credible. This is only true, though, if those backlinks are coming from quality, reputable sources, and it’s even better when those sites are relevant to your site. A page’s speed is crucial, so don’t forget testing it from time to time. From heavy images to unnecessary scripts, there is always a reason that your site gets slow.. When optimizing your Google My Business page, remember to upload your business logo and photos of your business (staff, office building, etc.). For an online business with no physical location, you can hide your address, but be sure to fill in and validate every other piece of information entered.

Looking at Competitors’ Authority and Trust

Do you publish new content exclusively for the enjoyment of your existing audience? Or do you want it to rank high in Google and bring new visitors to your site month after month? When it comes to SEO, it’s all about following a correct strategy. SEO is the most cost-effective way to bring new visitors to your website. But, there is no secret method to rank number one in Google. Google’s SEO Starter Guide states that, “If your URL contains relevant words, this provides users and search engines with more information about the page than an ID or oddly named parameter would.” In other words, including keywords – or at least clear and direct information – in your URL is a best practice. In the past, creating keyword rich anchor text used to be considered an effective strategy as long as they were on relevant sites. However, those days are long gone! Now, any keyword rich anchor text that you create on your own goes against Google’s guidelines. Once you know your goals, you should be able at least to decide on a balance between “head” keywords and “long-tail” keywords.

Understanding searcher intent

The type of permalink you pick influences the way these two parties see and value your site. A URL with a load of incomprehensible gibberish at the end is a lot less shareable and enticing than a short and simple SEO-friendly URL. Whatever shows up in the search results box has been searched for before meaning these long tail keywords could be very valuable. But remember these just give you a starting point to work off, people have Googled some quirky things so don’t think just because something shows up that it will make a good long tail keyword. Google suggestions give you a great place to work from but shouldn’t always be taken at face value. Google aims to ensure organic search engine marketing be a significant investment in time and budget for businesses. SEO in Goole is here. If someone hits their back button immediately after landing on a page, it tells Google in black-and-white: this is low quality page. That’s why Google uses “dwell time” to size up your content’s quality. If you want to grow your audience, it could be a great strategy to focus on a different language. Creating content in a foreign language can be quite a challenge though.

Drop Keyword in First 100 Words

Gaz Hall, from SEO Hull, had the following to say: "Good formatting can instantly improve your page’s readability. This, in turn, can improve your engagement rate. " People havedifferent search behaviours and of course languages based on their location so you need to adapt to these factors in order to rank on search engines. With so many options, manybrands and marketers are left to ask: What are the best tactics for SEO? And even more, what are the strategies that will produce the best long-term results? SEO is a complicated subject with many ins and outs, and it changes on an almost daily basis--but at the same time, it's not black magic. It's also not something you need an advanced degree or previous experience for. We all know that search engines have been trying for years to decrease their reliance on links as a ranking factor. But they haven’t got there yet and I don’t necessarily see that happening in the next year or so.

Useful, high quality, relevant content

With content being king, SEO may as well be queen. They both play an integral role in getting your message out and building your following. Whether you should go after long tail keywords, which are specific and consist of multiple words, or after head terms largely depends on your competition. Your content can target any audience, but if it doesn’t sufficiently deliver the information that audience is seeking, you’re out of luck. Just like you should interview others, seize opportunities to be interviewed, no matter how small the audience is. The 5-600 words that take you 15-20 minutes can turn into a few highly authoritative contextual links. : Article marketing involves writing one unique article, and then rearranging the words to transform that one article into multiple versions. This rearranged article will then be placed on different, usually low-quality article sites with highly optimized anchor text links.

reating quality content is the surest path to sustainable web traffic

We know that Google will never — and we mean never ever — give any sort of detailed secrets about its search ranking algorithm. They’ve also gone back and forth on the subject since about 2010. The latest from the search engine is that social is not a factor in the ranking algorithm. So, the answer changes slightly. Google recognizes that a site might have two versions on the same page (web version and printer friendly version), and this duplicate content is actually meant to make for a better user-experience, and not trick the search engines. Seek out industry-relevant and locally-relevant links from groups and websites with which you already have an offline relationship. Every Search Engines use different complex mathematical algorithms for generating Search Results. Different Search Engines perceive different elements of a web page including page title, content, meta description and then come up with their results to rank on. Each Search Engine’s algorithm are different, so if you rank on Google does not definitely mean that you will rank on Google. Website Optimization is about more than just making a page easier for users to browse through and navigate. There are also several things a website manager can do to optimize the website for their own devices.

According to Google, no-follow provides a way for webmasters to tell search engines Don't follow links on this page or Don't follow this specific link. This helps websites prevent untrusted content or paid links. It’s a new era for SEO, an era where you can no longer keyword-stuff your way to search ranking success. Nowadays, if Google finds out that you are blatantly overusing (or hiding) keywords on your site, your credibility (and rankings) could take a serious hit. However, this doesn’t mean that keywords are totally irrelevant. In fact, if you’re doing what Google wants you to do (creating high-quality content), keywords will work there way naturally into your website’s pages. While an SEO might not be your start-to-finish website design resource they should certainly be involved in design and usability, and there comes a time in every website’s life when SEO and website design collide head-on: the website refresh. For advanced users, the information an analytics package provides, combined with data from your server log files, can provide even more comprehensive information about how visitors are interacting with your documents (such as additional keywords that searchers might use to find your site). Just as Google has always been focused on providing its users with the best results, now it’s time to put your focus on what’s most important for your audience.

Are you focussing on the right keywords?

Rest assured that real SEO has nothing to do with keyword stuffing, keyword density, hacks, tricks or cunning techniques. If you hear any of these terms from your SEO advisor, run away from them as quickly as you can. User-generated content (UGC) sites and communities are two of my favourite places to find untapped keywords. Take a look at your top ranking and most shared content. Is there overlap? If you’ve found a type of content that is simultaneously strong in search and frequently shared, it’s worth optimizing that content even further. The ultimate goal of any marketer is to create a diverse range of high quality backlinks from various credible sources. But not all marketers tend to achieve this pinnacle. It takes time and patience and a lot of strategizing and in the end it is never that straight forward and many marketers in the process tend to compromise on the quality of such links and end up deterring their own websites with toxic links. Do not even expect to be on the first page of the Google if you believe in the theory that link building is an outdated concept.

SEO is a fast-changing marketing activity

Building an email list is important for most businesses. Email allows you to reach your customers directly, immediately, and for free. The driver of any heavy-duty link campaign is the quality and volume of your content. If your content is of average quality and covers the same information dozens of other sites have covered, it will not attract many links Keyword Research and Implementation is important for making any piece of copy shine, especially in the eyes of search engines. SEO in East Yorkshire is here. If you want to rank for a high-value, high-competition blockbuster phrase, don’t worry about it. Just start writing high ranking content for lots of related topics. You first need to fill your site with link magnets. Links need to actually be of interest to the reader. They must be relevant to the reader’s concerns and answer a question, provide advice, show images or do something else that is beneficial to the reader. This might sound tough, but it’s really not.

Social media signals have always invited contradicting opinions

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant, commented: "A proximity search uses the order of the search phrase to find related documents." In the past, creating keyword rich anchor text used to be considered an effective strategy as long as they were on relevant sites. However, those days are long gone! Now, any keyword rich anchor text that you create on your own goes against Google’s guidelines. Know your audience – surveys and your analytics software can help you get a better picture of your typical visitor or client. Consider developing marketing personas, or characters that represent your ideal site visitors and customers. Then think about what kinds of content those personas would be looking for. Every website has a robots.txt; this gives robots/crawlers/spiders a bunch of rules to follow, such as where they can/can’t crawl, and the pages they can/can’t index. You can check whether a URL is blocked by robots.txt with Google’s Robots Testing Tool. Google is pushing towards more and more personalized search results, so in order for you to perform well, you’ll have to ensure that you provide a better user experience that keeps people on your site.

Be Informed and updated!

The problem with directories: A good directory’s intent is to categorize the internet into different categories/subcategories, while providing links to good websites in those categories. Although there are legitimate directory websites, many were built solely for the purpose of building links back to webpages without consideration of link quality. This is the wrong way to build links. If you’re a bit familiar with the ways of SEO, you’ll be aware that duplicate content is a problem that can happen to anyone and could seriously harm your rankings. But in some cases, it’s difficult to know where you stand. In order to please both the search engines (who will reward you with high rankings over time) and potential customers and return visitors, you need to offer value above and beyond search engine optimization. You’ve got to understand that authority, niche-specific and generic blogs that publish related content can do the same. Stop buying links in an attempt to fool Google and get more low-quality traffic. Write quality content instead, trust humans to find it and have them link to your pages because you are worth it.

Keep a Record of All SEO Expenses

Although search engines can read text, they can’t read an image. That’s where “alt tags”, or “alternative text”, comes in. If you maintain a blog, of course you want the traffic to your blog to grow. But what if it doesn’t? What if the traffic to your blog is (slightly) decreasing? What do you do? The page title and URL are two of only a small number of elements that are present for a user to view within the search engine results page. It’s fair to say that they have a huge impact on click-through rate from the SERPs. Businesses that stick to the old SEO trick of “stuff a post with keywords and use metadata” will get left behind. SEO isn’t about tricking Google or working with spiders – it’s about creating content that wants to get read by your customers. Doing so will dramatically bias outcomes in your favor.

Even though keyword research is the first and most important step in your SEO strategy, there are a few corners to cut. Using tools to make a long list of potential keywords is a great way to speed up your keyword research. A 301 redirect means that the move is permanent. If you need to change the URL of a page as it is shown in search engine results, then you should use a server-side 301 redirect. Use keywords in the URL of your page. Using a website URL that’s full of symbols and numbers will hurt your ranking since most people aren’t searching for numbers or symbols. You will receive more traffic by giving your site relevant keywords. Google hasn’t spilled all its secrets regarding how it gauges domain authority; but it’s reasonable to assume that authority is determined based on each individual page, not the entire site or domain as a whole. Building up a bank of keywords that you can pepper across your site will ensure your site will rank highly in search engines, generating you clicks and boosting your income.

Effective Use Of Guest Blogging

SEO measures can take some time and effort. But what is the point in investing time and effort if you cannot see the fruits of your labor? Luckily, there are numerous metrics that you can check on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis in order to keep your SEO plan on track and to measure your success. If your website is trying to rank quickly for a specific topic, and yet there is not a piece of high-value content that addresses that topic, the probability of showing up in the Google search results is small. Relevance versus authority: these two metrics are always at the forefront of a link builder’s mind. Your title tag needs to be written for humans – as in it needs to make logical sense, rather than a keyword stuffed mess. The title tag will appear in a variety of places, from SERPs, to a social share, to the browser tab, so make sure it’s relevant and readable. The correct order of keywords will generally rank better as compared to the same keyword phrase in a different order.

Link building, of course, is a science in itself

How bad hosting can lead to losing SEO rankings Downtime of your website can lead to vastly decreased performance in organic search. Search engines are not impressed by a vast vocabulary; they want you to be consistent throughout the article. While doing a backlink audit, analyzing toxic backlinks and removing them can be a lengthy and tedious process, it is worth doing if you really want to see your website perform well in the search results. You can read an onsite SEO beginners guide here. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a key part of any digital marketing campaign and needs the right expertise to make it happen. A backlink from a more important page that is high in popularity itself will count more toward a higher ranking for your website.

What should be your strategy for those long keywords?

According to Gaz Hall, a UK SEO Consultant : "Your competitors may be investing more in their own SEO campaigns, outperforming you in the process." Finding that people from anunexpected search term are converting more highly than those from other search terms? Then it might be time to switch gear and start trying to rank for that phrase instead! I don't care if you are creating a blog post, ecommerce store page or sales-landing page. It needs to be better than the rest, or else neither Google nor your audience will ever take note. Originally devised as a way to combat comment spam, when a nofollow attribute is added to a link it tells search engines that your link to it isn't necessarily a vote of confidence. On-page optimization is one part of search engine optimization and, as the name suggests, it covers all the measures and modifications that are made on your own website. There are several elements on your website which you can influence and which enable search engines to index your content and understand what it is about.

Domain Age Is More Important For Backlinks

The more likely potential visitors are to think your site will provide an answer to their search query, the more traffic a page will gain. Make it easy for users to distinguish between regular text and the anchor text of your links. Your content becomes less useful if users miss the links or accidentally click them. External optimization involves optimizing your content not only for search engines, but for tons of other referral sources, too. Republishing, repurposing, and distributing your content all fall within external optimization. If a site links to you using the ’nofollow’ meta tag then their website’s authority won’t be passed to you. Some publishers automatically nofollow all external links, which is bad practice. Nofollow links should be reserved for sponsored or paid for links and content you don’t necessarily trust but still want to use as an example. Websites that receive many inbound links can be more likely to rank higher in search engines. Basically, inbound links tell site crawlers that your website is an authority on a certain subject -- so the more inbound links you have from high quality, high authority sites, the better your website can rank in search engine results pages (SERPs).

Boost your site speed indefinitely

What it boils down to is that the exact strategy you’re using for on-page SEO -- creating relevant, high-qulity content for a human audience -- should also help take care of your off-page SEO. It’s the classic two birds/one stone scenario. You can increase your search rankings and earn natural inbound links by creating amazing content. Seek out industry-relevant and locally-relevant links from groups and websites with which you already have an offline relationship. Website owners used to litter their content with tons of keywords in order to rank higher on Google. Now, the search engine penalizes for those practices. Launching a new website without putting 301 redirects in place is literally committing SEO suicide. Not only will you lose all of your past SEO history, your rankings (and traffic!) will plummet. Always, ALWAYS 301 redirect your old site pages to your new ones to let Google know where your new content can be found. Cornerstone content (in short: assigning one main page per content and linking that from related pages) shows how internal linkscontribute to your site structure.

Google has always encouraged webmasters to make their primary focus one of providing a good user experience. As the algorithm gets “smarter”, websites that do so are positioned to benefit the most. Figure out how you want to be known, and how you'd like to be found online. Include related keywords but make sure the writing isn't just about keywords. Then, write with a voice that's recognizable and consistent. SEO is all about getting more search visibility, yet there's no way I (or anyone else) can guarantee you a certain ranking or position for any specific keyword. There are too many variables at play, even with keyword and competitive research in hand. Google has spent millions of dollars to create faster load times for search results. If they have taken load times so seriously, shouldn’t you? Backlinks are the foundation to Google’s algorithm. Once you have a good site structure in place, you need to focus on acquiring backlinks.

Add your target keyword to your title page

If you maintain a blog, of course you want the traffic to your blog to grow. But what if it doesn’t? What if the traffic to your blog is (slightly) decreasing? What do you do? Building up a bank of keywords that you can pepper across your site will ensure your site will rank highly in search engines, generating you clicks and boosting your income. Fundamentally, SEO is a marketing discipline, not a technical one meaning that an understanding of basic marketing principles is essential. Nothing is more important to a successful marketing strategy than a strong understanding of the audience you are looking to attract. Higher rankings in the first few results are critical to visibility. User signals are behavioral patterns of users which Google uses to establish the rankings of your website in the search results. For instance: users click on a result in the search engines and after that, they immediately bounce back to Google. This is a signal that the website does not fit the search query of the user.

SEO for Raw Traffic

Some mobile sites refuse access to anything but mobile phones, making it impossible for Googlebot to access the site, and therefore making the site unsearchable. Share your good posts. Educate those in your circle. Solve their problem and encourage them to leave a comment on your campaign. Google/Bing Webmaster Tools allows you to submit multiple pages at once by submitting your sitemap(s). Sitemaps also have the added benefit of supplying a few other useful pieces of information about your web pages to the search engines, Are internal links as valuable as external links? Search engines like aged domains, and give them more authority over newer sites. There is no such thing as a cookie-cutter SEO plan, and for this, all parties on the SEO bandwagon should rejoice.

Content is K|ing

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant, commented: "SEO is a many-headed beast. From off-page elements to on-page elements, covering all aspects of SEO can easily become a Herculean task, especially when dealing with large websites." While search engine bots are scanning websites for indexing purposes, they also look for links to other websites. The more high-quality inbound links the website has, the greater its link authority. In theory, every inbound link counts as a positive recommendation for a website. However, it is not the quantity of inbound links that plays the biggest role for search engines; it’s quality. In short, you need to paint a vivid, unique picture of your product by not only describing it, but by answering the standard who, what, when, where and why questions. Google recognizes that a site might have two versions on the same page (web version and printer friendly version), and this duplicate content is actually meant to make for a better user-experience, and not trick the search engines. Check the readability score of your content with the Flesch reading ease test, and aim to get above 60%

Technical optimization

Another tip is to make sure you do your research and examine which terms to target before you set out. The days of buying, selling, and trading links for rankings is long gone…and if you try to bring it back, you will be long gone as well. The average top-ten ranking is two or more years old and the average age for the pages in the number one position is roughly three years old. Outbound, or external, links are links pointing outwards from your site to another website. They pass along some of your own site’s ranking power. The easiest way to get editorial links is to create outstanding content that people will want to share with their readers. Another way is to guest post on a high-quality site that is in your niche.

Make Mobile SEO A Priority

The anchor text you use for a link should provide at least a basic idea of what the page linked to is about. The meta description is not a ranking factor, but it does play an important part in optimizing your Click Through Rate (CTR). A marketer who dives deep on this topic can find dozens of opportunities to enhance their listing and earn more traffic. Because these days, it’s not enough to rank. The intro of the article should be short, focused, and to the point. This will help the reader prepare for what they are going to learn from reading the article. Having quality inbound links is thus, a crucial SEO technique that only increases the authority and credibility of your website.

Your target keywords should also be in the H1 tag, but your H1 can differ from your title tag For SEO purposes, you should definitely monitor the click through rates of different pages. You should be able to see the rates of specific pages on your website in Google Search Console. The link structure of the Web serves to bind together all of the pages that have been made public as a result of someone linking to them. Through links, search engines’ automated robots, called crawlers or spiders, can reach the many billions of interconnected documents. Whenever possible, avoid changing URL structures. The easiest way to prevent broken redirects is to avoid creating the redirects in the first place. If you hire an SEOcompany to help you rank for a certain search term, then you are probably missing the point. The better way to approach this is to hire an SEO company to help you increase your profits or your brand awareness

Create local search accounts

Focus on keywords that have higher search volume but don’t neglect long tail keywords. If optimized right, you can get more traffic from keywords with less search volume. A fastwebsite keeps the attention of site visitors and encourages them to browse the content; a page that loads slowly will often drive users away - perhaps toward your competitors. You want your page title to accurately describe what your page is about but you also want it to be “clickable”. Meaning, you want it to draw a searcher’s attention in a search result and entice them to click on it. On top of that, your page title should include your target keyword. If your content is consistently very short and not original the Google algorithm is likely to consider the site low-quality. It is essential that you create unique and valuable content that is a worthwhile read for users. Whatever your industry may be, tailor your content according to the needs of your audience.

Find posts that aren’t linked to

Today, many sites use secondary menus to accommodate for additional content. Loads of site-owners can’t help but state that they “can’t squeeze all they have to say in just a few pages.” To ensure that your website or web pages are discovered by users conducting searches in Google, you must implement the right tactics that appeal to the needs of users and search engines alike. Hopefully your website is laid out in a way that allows users to easily find the content or pages that you want to promote. The visual structure of your website is, in most cases, presented by the menu of your website. Of course, breadcrumbs and permalinks help a lot here as well, but these are not the things an ordinary visitor will take into account. The menu is. The user’s keywords are typically shown in boldface when they appear in the search results (sometimes close synonyms are shown in boldface as well).

SEO is a clean, lean, marketing machine

According to SEO Consultant, Gaz Hall: "Structured data is essential these days. It’s your page summary in re-usable chunks of content that Google loves." Gone are the days ofkeyword stuffing. Sentences actually need to make sense now. Optimise your website by ensuring that any published content is easy to read and digest. Natural keyword inclusion is acceptable, but make the readers your first priority, not the keywords. Take time to write compelling Meta descriptions for all important pages of the site, and for any pages that can be shared socially. A company may be able to identify thousands of keywords worth optimizing—but do they have a big enough SEO budget to handle that workload? According to Google, natural links leading back to your site are definitely something to strive for.

Make it sufficiently broad

Your competitors may be investing more in their own SEO campaigns, outperforming you in the process. If your niche is very competitive, you probably shouldn’t go after the most competitive head terms. It will be really hard to rank for those. SEO today is increasingly driven by natural language search, that is, people doing searches that are more like normal questions than two or three keywords. Increase visibility to new content you create by sharing it on social networks and building links to your content (both internally and from external sites). Content syndication is the term used for the tactical republishing of your original article on another third-party website. It’s particularly useful if you’re a smaller publisher or an up-and-coming writer who wants a larger audience.

Cross-link relevant content

In an SEO scenario, Google likes to trust sites that have links from high quality, relevant sources. For example, large news websites don’t generally link to an untrusted source, nor do top quality industry blogs or university or .edu websites. Scan through your website and make a list of all the relatable keywords. Then, make a list of all the potential keywords keeping your niche in mind. If you are already clear with your business/product/service offerings, then keyword selection is all the more easy. Assessing which keywords to go after first is a crucial second step in your keyword research. This is difficult: not everyone is good at estimating which keywords their site will be able to rank for. To prevent users from linking to one version of a URL and others linking to a different version (this could split the reputation of that content between the URLs), focus on using and referring to one URL in the structure and internal linking of your pages. If you do find that people are accessing the same content through multiple URLs, setting up a 301 redirect from non-preferred URLs to the dominant URL is a good solution for this. For larger websites, especially those within e-commerce leanings, there are huge SEO wins to be had with snippet optimization.
